Yard Jockey operates gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination bringing trailers to loading docks to be unloaded. Backs trailer to loading docks, performs safety checks to secure trailer, opens bay doors, and assists dock workers in loading/unloading trailer. Being a Yard Jockey maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up. Typically requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Yard Jockey requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Yard Jockey works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Yard Jockey typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Yard Hand Details :
- Temp-to-Hire position
- $ / hour
- Full Time work available
- First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07 : 00am to 03 : 30pm)
- Gathering, handling, and sorting tools, pipes, and other materials that aid in the rig's operations.
- Following your supervisor's instructions, moving and manipulating sections of piping as necessary.
Yard Hand Qualifications :
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Able to stand on feet for duration of shift.
- Able to work weekends if needed.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
- Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
