Yard Jockey operates gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination bringing trailers to loading docks to be unloaded. Backs trailer to loading docks, performs safety checks to secure trailer, opens bay doors, and assists dock workers in loading/unloading trailer. Being a Yard Jockey maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up. Typically requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Yard Jockey requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Yard Jockey works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Yard Jockey typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Rail Yard Crew
Rail Yard Crew - operates under the supervision of the Rail Crew Foreman unloading aggregate from rail cars. This may include shoveling various aggregates, bending, lifting, cleaning cars, etc.
other duties as requested. This is physically strenuous work; you must be able to lift 75 lbs. The job may take place in various locations in North Dakota without town work required (pay per diem with out town work).
Work is primarily outdoors, lasting from April through December, which is seasonal, full-time, some weekends.
Primary Job Function :
Work hours are generally 10-hour days but often exceed that during the end of the season, reaching 70-90 hours per week at times.
The Rail Crew worker must wear hearing protection and sturdy work boots.

Must have current valid driver's license and be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and background check.
