Description

A day in the life:

• Equipment inspections by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility
• Detail (thoroughly clean) yard facilities and equipment to improve their appearance and enhance the customer experience.
• Operate vehicles and forklifts in a safe manner.
• Follow proper company procedures for receiving and stocking incoming shipments.
• Assist customers by providing appropriate guidance and advising them to the appropriate location for product pick-up.
• Train and develop employees on the job in forklift and delivery operations

While it is not required, it would be great if you have:

Candidates with basic construction skills or experience in the construction area have found this role to be an exceptionally great fit. Experience in the building materials or construction industry and/or related field preferred.

Physical Demand Highlights:

• Ability to apply appropriate use of security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect Company and customer assets
• Ability to apply appropriate use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses)

• Ability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.

• Ability to constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, and sit
• Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl
• This position involves primarily outdoor work in all types of weather
• Must remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in their work area

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school or Vocational School Graduate
• Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in the English language.
• Preferred – College courses in management, supervision and logistics, or extensive experience in the building materials/hardware industry.
• Good analytical and observational skills that demonstrate ability to organize, direct, control and manage effectively several functions at a time. Be able to recognize ore establish priorities and manage within them. Must have good people skills with an ability to supervise, direct, and train, while maintaining a team.
• Knowledge of equipment used in processes and must be certified to operate the equipment. Knowledge of OSHA and company safety requirements. Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedure for all equipment.
• Valid Driver License and CDL Certificate
