Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Wound Care Responsibilities:
- Apply amniotic allografts in person to patients at various facilities
- Document thoroughly on all conversations/prescriptions for remote work
- Document thoroughly on all wound grafts placed
- Prescribe Care Plans and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) to patients in program
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families about their Care Plan
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting with at least 6 months experience in wound care
- Proficiency in acute wound care management
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes to ensure smooth transitions of care for patients
- Familiarity with medical records standards and documentation requirements
- Experience in sterile processing techniques to maintain infection control protocols
- Specialized experience in senior care, dermatology, wound care, hospice palliative medicine, esthetic laser treatment, workers compensation law, or psychopharmacology is a plus
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Florida and CA. (Florida only is okay to start. Be prepared to receive licensure in CA)
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty area
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to make independent decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
