Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Manage the daily routine of provider rounding within the Allied model in assigned facilities
Initiate wound care rounding schedule with wound care physicians, mid-level providers and facility staff prior to weekly rounds
Complete rounding forms based on active wounds during rounding; leaving copies for the facility wound care nurse, Director of Nursing and the Allied Coordinator at the completion of rounds
Gather necessary information in preparation for rounding with physicians; coordinate with the facility to obtain accurate information (patient list and location of active wounds)
Ensure proper labs are completed for rounding
Assist physician with rounding with a particular focus on customer service and improved patient outcomes
Scribe all physician notes into the Electronic Medical Record within 48 hrs of visit
At the completion of rounding, remind wound care provider to communicate/check in with Director of Nursing/Administrator
Upon request of Allied Intake Coordinator, obtain copy of insurance card to ensure correct policy information (including Medicare Part A/Part B) or other pertinent documentation.

Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with medical providers, facility administrators and directors, patients and their families, as well as all interdisciplinary caregivers, peers, subordinates and supervisors
Flexible schedule and the ability to adjust to contracted physicians’ schedules, as well as a willingness to work evenings and weekends, if necessary, to meet clinical, operational and/or administrative deadlines
Valid driver's license with unrestricted access to a safe, reliable, legally insured personal vehicle that allows for transportation anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Oklahoma City and the ability to independently and safely operate that vehicle
Ability to effectively utilize technology (computers, cell phones, smart tablets, etc.) and any related software programs, applications and/or websites for clinical, operational and/or administrative purposes
