Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Wound Care Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Wound Nurse (RN/LPN) Responsibilities
As a Wound Nurse, you will be responsible for the community’s general application of the skin management program. Our Wound Nurses are responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and effective treatment to heal various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Wound Nurses are required to assess wounds, create, and implement treatment plans, monitor infections and signs of various infections, and clean wounds. As a Wound Nurse, you would operate within the scope of practice defined by the state Nurse Practice Act.
Wound Nurse (RN/LPN) Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (PN) program and licensed in the state of practice, required.
- One year of experience providing specialized treatments in a long-term care setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN/LPN, experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs; ALFs as required by state)
