Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Wound Care Specialists LLC (WCS) is a locally owned, industry leading physician and nurse practitioner practice group providing specialized wound care management within close to 200 post-acute and long-term care facilities across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Our providers conduct weekly bedside consultations in skilled nursing facilities with superior clinical outcomes, exceptional healing rates, and significantly reduced wound related complications and hospitalizations.
A Wound APRN with WCS is required to work in tandem with the designated wound nurse from the facility, with a focus on customer service, approachability and teamwork. An average weekly caseload for a fully trained and oriented APRN is between 60-150 patient encounters with approximately 6-12 client facilities serviced in a week depending on if in part time or full time status within a small local foot print. Our goal is for our providers to meet the facility needs while having a personal work/life balance which this profession doesn’t always allow for.
