    Volt is immediately hiring for a Materials Handling at Santa Rosa, CA.
    As a Materials Handling, you will:
    • First point of contact for questions and escalations from a team of material handlers.
    • Provide one on one training to new employees, in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and within written job description.
    • Identify process efficiencies and/or productivity enhancements quarterly, or as determined by your direct supervisor.
    • Become a subject matter expert, on material handler responsibilities and assist the team as appropriate.
    • Ability to communicate professionally to all levels within the company.
    • Identify any safety or compliance opportunities and provide solution-oriented feedback through to completion.
    • Prepare and ship items using the appropriate shipping method, select appropriate shipping container, pack items for safe delivery.
    • Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
    • Receives and unloads incoming materials and uses available tools to verify accuracy of shipments.
    • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
    • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
    • Traces lost shipments and/or file claims for lost or damaged items.
    • Routinely performs administrative functions such as maintaining department databases, prepare routine reports, file shipping and receiving records.
    • May operate material handling equipment that could include forklift, electric pallet jacks, shrink-wrap machines, carousels, walkie-stackers, order pickers as needed.
    • Provide root cause and corrective actions for monthly business fundamentals, that fall out of control, or as requested by direct Supervisor.
    • Provide first level auditing of job transactions and output for compliance with written processes and required guidelines.
    • Partner with direct supervisor on coordination of month end, quarter end, or yearend output requirements.
    • Flexibility to manage competing priorities, professionally and thoroughly.
    • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, written work instructions, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or health standards.
    • Performs miscellaneous logistics related administrative duties as assigned.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, working environment and optimize space utilization.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, without assistance.

    This is a Full-Time Contract opportunity.
    Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm (Monday - Friday)
    The Ideal Candidate will have:
    • Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of previous material handling experience required.
    • Demonstrated track record of success driving continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Experience with Oracle WMS, TA-15, and logistic carrier databases preferred.
    • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
    • Demonstrates effective listening and communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Demonstrated success in a diverse, team-oriented work environment.
    • Good organizational and time management skills.
    • Experience with operation of material handling equipment preferred.
    • Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
    • Experience with MS Suite of applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Payrate Range in Between - $19- $20/hourly
    • Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
