Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.     Central Regional Hospital is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking, and passionate team player to join our Human Resources Team. We are recruiting for a HR Technician II to function as the Workers' Compensation Administrator. This team member is responsible for the Workers' Compensation program for our facility, working in a consultative manner with employees, management, Employee Health Services, Safety Officers, DHHS Attorney for Workers' Compensation, as well as our Third-Party Administrator. This position performs a variety of complex, confidential programmatic responsibilities to include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Partner with our Third-Party Administrator, in coordinating and processing the Workers' Compensation program.
    • Ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and attention to detail when calculating and processing all payroll actions, forms, communications, and records per prescribed deadlines.
    • Work independently in the administration of the Workers' Compensation Program based in relevant N.C. Workers' Compensation laws and regulations. (G.S. Chapter 97)
    • Partner with the DHHS Workers' Compensation Attorney with regards to settlements and legal matters.
    This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package. The normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.

    • Demonstrated ability to initiate, monitor, track, and reconcile actions for quality assurance and timeliness
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) system and MS Office (i.e., Excel and Word) for reports, tracking and monitoring work activities
    • Demonstrated skills to successfully establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional working relationship at all levels
    Management prefers applicants with the following:
    • Experience with Workers' Compensation
    • Experience using Beacon/SAP
    • Certification through NC OSHR Qualified Workers’ Compensation Professional Program

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Associates degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
