Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Workers Compensation Administrator II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description

    The Workers Compensation Claims Specialist works within a Claims Team, using the latest technology to manage an assigned caseload of routine to moderately complex claims from the investigation of the claim through resolution. This includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements. The role interacts with claimants, policyholders, appraisers, attorneys, and other third parties throughout the claim’s management process. The position offers training developed with an emphasis on enhancing skills needed to help provide exceptional service to our customers.


    To be considered for this position, you are required to reside within 50 miles of Liberty Mutual’s Indianapolis, IN or Hoffman Estates, IL office
    .


    Candidates living in Virginia, Montana or Ohio will be fully work from home.


    Training is a critical component to your success and that success starts with reliable attendance. Attendance and active engagement during training is mandatory.
    Training will require 2 weeks in our office in Plano., TX.


    This position may be filled as a Workers Compensation Associate Claims Specialist, Workers Compensation Claims Specialist I or a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist II.
    The salary range posted reflects the range for the varying pay scale across various locations.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
    • Establishes action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues and available resources.
    • Plans and conducts investigations of claims to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages.
    • Assesses policy coverage for submitted claims and notifies the insured of any issues; determines and establishes reserve requirements, adjusting reserves, as necessary, during the processing of the claim, refers claims to the subrogation group or Special Investigations Unit as appropriate.
    • Assesses actual damages associated with claims and conducts negotiations, within assigned authority limits, to settle claims.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Proven interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities required.
    • Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner, ability to build effective relationships.
    • Bachelor`s degree or equivalent in addition to 1-year claims handling experience. Knowledge of legal liability, insurance coverage and medical terminology preferred.
    • Licensing may be required in some states.
