Position Summary – This position will help coordinate the medical care and the administrative process provided to patients seen by our providers with work-related injury or illness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Communicate with workers’ compensation insurance carrier, adjusters, attorney offices, health care providers and patients to ensure appropriate processing of claims
- Receive and process requests from adjuster and/or paralegal for new work comp appointments, independent medical exams, and depositions
- Create new guarantor accounts in the electronic medical record system
- Schedule patient appointments for work comp, independent medical exams, depositions, second opinions
- Print, prepare, and deliver patient records/file to physician prior to visit/meeting
- Coordinate and schedule depositions with physicians and attorneys
- Process charges for all legal services rendered, collect deposits and post payments
- Work accounts receivable to follow up on outstanding charges
- Work refunds to submit to billing manager to be processed
- Ensure department processes are followed
- Any other job duties that might be requested by the physicians or management to help the office run efficiently
Specifications/Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) – The person in this position must have knowledge of current workers’ compensation statutes for both Kansas and Missouri.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for the person in this position.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize duties and reprioritize daily.
- Be able to adapt to changing procedures and requests in the workers' compensation field is essential.
- This person must be able to organize their time between a variety of tasks.
Typical Physical Demands – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking for varied amounts of time. Occasional stress from daily workload. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including copiers, printers, computers, and fax machines.

Work Hours – This is an hourly full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; hours may vary.
Education – Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience – Epic, electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred; minimum one year experience preferred.

- Ensures compliance of the clinic with State and Federal regulations such as HIPAA, OSHA regulations
