The specialist will perform product fulfillment and gain and maintain working knowledge of all job duties within the Wood Furniture shop. This position will primarily be responsible for independently directing the work of Persons in our Care in the receiving of materials, furniture production, and packaging of furniture products. This includes training and overseeing workers in the workings of the manufacturing environment, including: the production floor, manufacturing materials, processes, production methods and equipment.

The specialist will also be working closely with the supervisor to develop and implement new products; manage inventories; manage production costs; and utilize all Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems in their manufacturing facility.

The specialist will also oversee shop health and safety, including the production floor, security, health and tool control.

The specialist will work with PIOC workers, office administration, inside and outside sales staff, vendors, and quality control.

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

• Experience with wood furniture manufacturing techniques including working with wood shaping machines and laminated materials.
• Experience in training and/or overseeing others in the fabrication and/or assembly of wood furniture products.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including MS Word and MS Excel.
