Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Job Summary:

    Drake University's Athletics Department is searching for a new member to lead and coordinate Ticket Operations.

    The Director of Ticket Operations oversees all ticketing operations for the Department of Athletics including the Drake Relays, and provides leadership for ticketing staff.

    The position will lead the Ticket Office customer service model including ticket office staffing, communication, and fan engagement. This individual will work closely with the Athletics department staff to develop and implement ticket sales strategies that will drive attendance and increase revenue to improve the student-athlete experience at Drake. The position will also work closely with the Bulldog Club fundraising staff to assist efforts to grow the Bulldog Club and gifts to Drake Athletics by assisting with the allocation of donor benefits, and assisting with special event ticket processing.

    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated examples of exemplary customer service, integrity, and the ability to develop relationships with ticket holders, donors and fans. This position is eligible for a customized work arrangement including periods of remote work in coordination with area manager.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of constituents
    • Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, customer service mindset
    • Desire and ability to successfully work as part of a team

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two or more years ticket operations experience
    • Experience in athletics and/or higher education

    Job Duties:

    30% - Responsible for the operation of the athletic ticket office which includes but not limited to ticket processing, billing and collection from ticketholders, database management and processing of normal ticket office business functions. - (Essential)

    15% - Lead the Ticket Office customer service model including ticket office staffing, communication, and fan engagement. - (Essential)

    10% - Record and reconcile cash disbursements entries; review voids and refund items for journal records as well as for bank reconciliations. - (Essential)

    10% - Build relationships with season ticket holders, Bulldog Club members and general public. - (Essential)

    10% - Assist in developing and implementing sport-specific ticket promotion plans, which may include ticket campaigns. - (Essential)

    5% - Act as primary liaison with ticketing vendors. - (Essential)

    5% - Develop lead generation efforts for season, individual game and group sales ticket plans. - (Essential)

    5% - Ensure confidentiality of all documents and records maintained in the ticket office and online systems. - (Essential)

    5% - Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of Ticket Office staff. - (Essential)

    5% - Perform other duties, as assigned. - (Essential)

    For faculty positions, selection will depend on the receipt of recommendation confirming the candidate's scholarly achievements and teaching abilities and/or on the candidate's satisfactory passing of a teaching demonstration if selected for an on-campus interview.
