Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Reports to: Head Coach for Women's Soccer
Primary Responsibility: Assist in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes, practice planning and organization, all forms of scouting activities, pregame and in-game coaching and tournament management, scheduling, and travel arrangements. Assist in supporting student-athletes and promote their academic, athletic, civic, and spiritual progress. Assist with promotion of attendance and awareness and fundraising activities related to the women's soccer program, Lipscomb University Athletics and Lipscomb University as a whole.
Requires an understanding of, embodiment of and support of the mission and values of Lipscomb University and Lipscomb Athletics. Support and ensure the program’s compliance with NCAA, ASUN Conference, and Lipscomb rules and regulations. Assist Head Coach as directed, with program-improvement projects and initiatives, camp opportunities, fundraising, development and cultivation opportunities for the University, community awareness programming, campus engagement and other opportunities as may arise that will benefit Lipscomb University Athletics and the University as a whole.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching: Assist in preparing athletes for improvement in practice and in competition. Assist and organize, conduct and participate in practices and conditioning sessions. Supervise student athletes during practice, competition and travel to and from those events as directed by the Head Coach. Assist with all areas of scouting.
Recruiting: Assistant may expect to travel overnight as needed to recruit student/athletes the school may be interested in.
Travel: Assistant is expected to recruit as directed by the Head Coach during throughout the year.
Assist, as directed with other women's soccer and Athletics programming: Given Lipscomb intends to build and cultivate partnerships in the area, this position will also require that the individual assist the Head Coach, the Director of Athletics and other key Lipscomb University stakeholders with its involvement with partners on program-improvement projects and initiatives, camp opportunities, fundraising, development and cultivation opportunities for the University, community awareness programming, campus engagement and other opportunities as may arise that will benefit Lipscomb University Athletics and the University as a whole.
Administrative Responsibilities: Assist Head Coach - May include scheduling assistance with practices, competitions or other program related activities. Coordinate transportation, lodging and meals for team members for all scheduled events. Physical assessments, practice assessments, daily planning for practice. Work with Head Coach to ensure compliance with Lipscomb, NCAA, and the ASUN Conference rules and regulations. Order, issue, care for, and inventory equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Coordinate the distribution, collection, and storage of athletic equipment, uniforms, and supplies. Perform any other duties or responsibilities related to the assistant coaching position as needed or directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Recruiting, Fundraising, Promotion of Program and University: Assist and support coordination of recruiting for the women's soccer program. Assist in setting up scouting and recruiting trips and on campus visits and meetings. Research and review information regarding potential student athletes etc.
Other Duties: Promote Lipscomb women's soccer in a positive manner that strives for excellence in all of its endeavors. Display an attitude among student athletes that winning is important but is secondary to embodying the Christ-centered values of the university, ensuring the overall welfare of the athletes and displaying good sportsmanship in all we do.
