Responsibilities | The Athletic Communications Director will be involved in the day-to-day operations, including but not limited to developing and implementing the department's communication and digital media plan, while working closely with Yellow Flag Productions to meet these plans. The person in this role will possess very strong creative technical skills (writing, photography, and graphic skills) and will have demonstrated the ability to communicate with a wide range of diverse audiences, such as internal and external constituents.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE | Oversee all aspects of the Athletic Communications Department, including student-assistants, graduate assistants, and Yellow-Flag Productions Relationship. Other aspects include but are not limited to weekly releases, weekly awards, statistics, and other duties assigned. Respond to media requests and form and maintain relationships with Detroit Sports Media alongside maintaining requests from internal and external audiences. Provide Photography at all Home Events, sharing with fellow Conference Athletic Communication Staff throughout the year. Maintain Statistics through NCAA Genius and Presto Sports, and maintain Athletic Department Website through SIDEARM. Ensure the accuracy of the information on all platforms, including the conference schedule page, athletic department web page, and social media for each sport. Maintains record books, ensuring the accuracy of the information. Including but not limited to Hall Of Fame information, Individual Sports, etc…
