Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Position Summary

    Shelter Support Team Members work to ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment in residential shelters for participants who are victims of violence, abuse, and trauma.

    Position Location: New Bedford (A1)

    Hours Per Week: 24 minimum

    Schedule: Friday - 3 pm - 11 pm ($18.00/hr)

    Saturday - 3 pm - 11 pm ($19.50/hr)

    Sunday - 7 am - 3 pm ($18.50/hr)

    Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour (includes weekend differential pay)

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain the safety and security of participants and their families, ensuring that shelter rules are followed.
    • Respond effectively to emergency situations; communicate and document incidents in a timely, accurate manner.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of incident reports, logs, and other records.
    • Guard the privacy of participants’ information in accordance with The Women’s Center policies, procedures and as required by law.
    • Perform hourly “rounds” throughout the shift, making sure participants are safe.
    • Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
    • Respond to crisis and information calls.
    • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
    • Other duties as required.

    The Women’s Center will provide on-the-job training including CPR certification and first aid.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Self-directed and able to work independently – the sole staff person during the shift
    • Empathetic and vigilant; maintain confidentiality
    • Able to stay calm and use good judgment in tense, crisis situations; and work under pressure
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally-diverse populations
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office

    Education and Experience::

    • Must have high school diploma or GED; college degree is desirable
    • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in social work or human services
    • Experience working in a residential setting is a plus
    • Bilingual is a plus

    Other Requirements

    • Able to lift 35 pounds and climb stairs
    • Reliable transportation
