Women's Athletics Director jobs in Flint, MI

Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.       SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

      • College experience is preferred.
      • Experience in sports information, communications, media, journalism, public relations, or related fields; expert attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
      • Knowledge of sporting rules and regulations.
      • Ability to use content and student management systems, including web pages; familiarity with streaming-video technology.
      • Ability and interest to keep abreast of trends and topics, to help stay in tune with what might interest the school's audiences and the media.
      • Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with those contacted in the performance of duties.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, willing and able to travel to away athletic events, including evenings and weekends.
      • The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about adolescents' intellectual, social, and emotional development and willing to positively greet the challenges and opportunities they present.
      REQUIREMENTS:
      Newly hired employees MUST satisfactorily pass:

      • Reference checks

      ANNUAL SALARY: $50,000. Exceptional fringe benefits available.
