Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Assistant Director, Athletics Annual Giving

  • Reporting directly to Director, Athletics Annual Giving, this position helps create and execute athletics annual giving philanthropic fundraising including, but not limited to, Our Beaver Nation scholarship fund, sports specific, gift-in-kind, and programmatic support.

    Work Location

    This position will be based in Corvallis, Oregon and will work out of Gill Coliseum.

    • The OSU Foundation’s Advancement Communications, Annual Giving, Digital Technology, & Stewardship teams, Gift Administration
    • OSU Athletics head coaches and their staff designated to support fundraising
    • OSU Athletics staff in communications and marketing
    • Contracted external organizations

    Measures of Success

    The success of this position will be measured by:

    • Ensure annual increases in overall dollars raised through Athletics Annual Giving solicitation efforts for Our Beaver Nation and programmatic support
    • Ensure increased annual non-transactional contributions to Our Beaver Nation
    • Ensure growth in Dam Proud Day dollars raised and donor count
    • Ensure adoption rates of digital communications
    • Ensure integration of annual fundraising content in OSU Athletics digital platforms
    • Ensure growth in digital data capturing resulting in larger solicitation segments

    Major Duties

    Help create, execute, and evaluate all athletics annual giving philanthropic fundraising including, but not limited to, quarterly solicitations, Dam Proud Day, and unique sport specific appeals.

    Create content and draft copy for solicitation and engagement (i.e., newsletter) materials for a variety of donor audiences for the purpose of maximize student-athletes ,and donor, storytelling.

    Execute multi-channel marketing plan for OSU Athletics Annual Giving program that includes email, web, social media, and print.

    Work with technology partners to implement digital strategies for the purpose of growing virtual engagement with each of our sports throughout the year to deepen and broaden the number of constituents who are engaging with our programs.

    Monitor a data-driven annual giving solicitation system to grow current baseline productivity over year-to-year goal. Work with reporting partners to produce data analytics tools and assist with the interpretation of annual giving reports.

    Support the development and execution of the OBN and Athletics Dam Proud Day strategy in partnership with Director of Annual Giving, Athletics. Tasks include creation of giving pages; tracking challenge gifts; strategic communications before, during and after; head coach and staff communications, and post DPD performance review.

    Communicate with internal partners OSU Foundation partners such as Donor Experience Officers (DXO), Regional Directors, and Asst. Directors to inform of Athletics annual giving priorities.

    Serve as a sport specific liaison, working alongside in some cases multiple OBN colleagues, to help build annual plan with annual and major giving goals, establish newsletter content, and support donor engagements.

    Actively participate with the Our Beaver Nation Advisory Board and sport specific groups to promote increased support through volunteerism.

    • Effectively represent the interests and fundraising priorities of various colleges/units, while also maintaining a high degree of enterprise perspective by acting in the best interests of the Foundation and the university at all times

    • Handle interpersonal relationships maturely, thoughtfully and empathetically, including the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
    • Maintain good relationships with external vendors, including direct mail and printing houses

    Education and Experience Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in integrated marketing communications. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
