Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Wellness Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Wellness Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Reproductive Justice Program Manager

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage the development of programmatic infrastructure related to the BWW Reproductive Justice programs; as well as supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to managing these programs.
    • Manage the collaboration and communication between all South Los Angeles/South Bay African American Infant Maternal Mortality Community Action Team (SLA/SB AAIMM CAT) organizations, planning team, workgroups, and Los Angeles County Health Agency staff.
    • Manage the coordination of logistics for SLA/SB AAIMM CAT meetings, trainings and events while supporting facilitation and maintain an equitable table for all participant’s voices to be heard.
    • Provide leadership and support for SLA/SB AAIMM CAT members regarding the documenting and sharing of their successes through publications and social media.
    • Collaborate with the AAIMM CAT planning team to establish an evaluation system to analyze the impact and successes of PEI funded programs.
    • Provide management for the coordination, preparation and dissemination of regular program updates, writing and preparing proposals and reports, contracts management, and data monitoring for Reproductive Justice Programs.
    • Lead and manage the research and development of new partnerships, while strengthening and deepening existing ones, interacting with external partners and stakeholders, including subrecipients, consultants, community-based partners, funders, donors, government representatives, and the general community. This position will be an integrated member of BWW's Reproductive Justice team.
    • Support the research, development and implementation of BWW’s Maternal Health policy platform
    • Work with BWW Policy team to provide support and maintain BWW as a leader in Reproductive Justice/Maternal Health policy at a local, state and federal level

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide oversight and management of BWW’s Reproductive Justice Programs: Maternal Infant Health and Get Smart B4 You Get Sexy; MMHN/Community Partners Improving Perinatal Mental Health Outcomes Amongst Pregnant and Postpartum AA Women, CMQCC Birth Equity in California Project.
    • Effectively lead the collaborations with the Communications and Civic Engagement teams to enable and facilitate BWW and AAIMM CAT positioning across its core areas of focus through various social media and digital outreach platforms.
    • Manage the facilitation of SLA/SB AAIMM CAT workgroup team(s) in annual goals setting that align with BWW's organizational goals and national recommendations
    • Manage efforts to support SLA/SB AAIMM CAT workgroup team(s) in determining effective strategies to achieve annual goals
    • Leads and Manages annual comprehensive program reviews for BWW/AAIMM CAT including developing, implementing and monitoring corrective action plans, as needed
    • Work with Grants and Contracts Manager in seeking, applying for, managing funding sources, preparing proposals, developing and monitoring budgets; ensures appropriate expenditure allocation
    • Manage the preparation of progress, quarterly and annual reports and facilitates program evaluation activities.
    • Lead and Manage the creation of materials including fact sheets, letter of support, research and media materials
    • Ensures ongoing interaction and communication with BWW staff to support coordination and integration across organizational programs and networks
    • Participates in the interviewing and/or training of staff and interns/volunteers, when appropriate
    • Strives to maintain updated knowledge on all existing and emerging topics and the relevant political landscape
    • Attends operational and quality improvement meetings to ensure organization leadership, program integration, and engages in creating and maintaining a culture of excellence
    • Engages in ongoing communication about organizational and program progress, including successes and challenges with supervisor
    • Participates in strategic and operational planning by recommending programmatic and service priorities and opportunities
    • Frequent travel is required
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor Degree in public health, public policy, public administration or related degree required, advanced degree preferred (Masters or J.D.)
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in non-profit or government
    • Experience successfully building and coordinating with a high performing team
    • knowledge on reproductive health, right and justice issues impacting Black women
    • Commitment to social justice, policy, advocacy and research
    • Track-record of high-level impact on advocacy and policy issues in the human services field and/or reproductive health right and justice field
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft word and PowerPoint or similar programs
    • Entrepreneurial, flexible, creative, energetic, hard-working and unafraid of challenges
    • Strong, proactive project management skills with experience managing and coordinating research projects, policy analysis, and high-impact advocacy campaigns
    • Experience using social media in advocacy campaigns
