Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Wellness Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Wellness Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Wellness Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Alameda County Network of Mental Health Clients is seeking a Program Manager for the BestNow! training program. The Program Manager is responsible for a program designed to encourage and promote the hiring of mental health consumers within behavioral health care, community-based organizations, and the self-help and recovery movement. In addition, this position acts as the supervisor to the BestNow! Team, consisting of three to four other employees and/or contractors. They will also collaborate with other Network managers in monthly meetings to strategize ways to best meet the needs of the mental health community in Alameda County. There will be opportunities for the Program Manager to engage in ongoing training to keep skills up to date and represent the agency at relevant committees and conferences.

    Peer Support Specialist Training Duties

    ● Design and support a recruitment process that includes community outreach, public

    orientations, graduate involvement, and a comprehensive selection process

    ● Conduct ongoing evaluation of training materials and make updates based on advancements

    in the peer support field, and considering feedback from ACBH administrators, agencies

    providing PSS internships, program participants, and staff

    ● Research and develop training materials and techniques to meet the various learning styles of

    trainees

    ● Facilitate training and provide leadership as lead trainer

    Supervision Duties

    ● Provide regular supervision to BestNow! staff, applying peer support values and a

    trauma-informed approach

    ● Attend monthly Managers’ Meeting

    ● Attend HR training and workshops to improve supervisory skills

    ● Create and maintain a healthy work environment in which employees are able to prioritize

    their wellness and complete job duties

    Outreach and Advocacy

    ● Identify employment opportunities for Peer Support Specialists within the Alameda County

    Behavioral Health Care system and local community-based organizations

    ● Create and maintain relationships with agencies in the Alameda County Behavioral Health

    Care system and local community-based organizations

    ● Represent BestNow! in behavioral health and community stakeholder meetings ● Advocate

    for equitable employment opportunities for people with lived experience in the behavioral health

    field

    ● Attend meetings pertaining to the Peer Support Specialist Workforce

    Deliverables

    ● Meet deliverables required for HCAI grant.

    ● Meet deliverables required for Alameda County Contract.

    ● Meet deliverables required to be a CalMHSA training vendor.

    ● Meet deliverables required to be a CalMHSA CEU provider

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    ● Personal lived experience accessing mental health services and/or mental health recovery

    ● 2 years experience coordinating or managing community learning for adults

    ● 2 years experience working within a mental health setting providing Peer Support

    ● Ability to manage complex projects and facilitate training and groups

    ● Strong ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs and Google applications

    ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    ● Excellent organizational skills including time management

    ● Ability to work in diverse and sometimes challenging situations while modeling personal

    recovery and wellness

    ● Knowledge of Consumer Movement, Peer Support, and familiarity with Alameda County

    mental health system and community-services

    ● Knowledge of and the ability to access community resources for employment within Alameda

    County

    Job Type: Full-time
