JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Position

• Responsible for performing production welding to support manufacturing requirements.
• Must provide production welds that meet engineering drawings and quality specifications and they must be delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Requires the skills to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Requires good eyesight to be able to read engineering drawings and instructions, distinguish defects, and read dials and gauges.
• Requires lifting, bending, squatting, walking, reaching above and below waist, and carrying materials.
• Requires knowledge of all parts needed for each welding.
• Requires proper placement into fixture to ensure quality of weld.
• Requires knowledge to set each weld and to make minor adjustments to meet engineering drawing specifications.
• Requires working to standard measurements to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Requires the use of hand tools including air tools.
• Requires reading dials and gauges to make adjustments to meet specifications.
• Performs other duties as required by management.

Education, Skills and Experience

• Must have completed vocational training school on production welding or have equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Must read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Must operate welding equipment to make adjustments to specifications.
