Welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Being a Welder inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. Additionally, Welder may prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Welder works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Welder for our Downingtown facility located in Downingtown, PA . The working schedule for this position is 2nd shift.

What You'll Get To Do
Do you pride yourself in being a jack-of-all trades? The Welder position is critical to support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
This position requires welding certification. Primary duties include performing the layout of work and all types of welding on stationary and mobile equipment.
May also assist in maintenance work or other work as assigned.
- Perform layout work
- All types of welding
- Work on large equipment and mobile equipment
- Assist in maintenance work
- Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures
- Must pass certification for 3G,4G
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years welding experience
- Must pass welding certification
- Able to use oxygen / acetylene torches
- Horizontal and Vertical and Overhead welding
- Air Arcing
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work on large equipment
- Ability to work in small spaces.
- Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and / or overtime required
e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
