About Us :

Welding Works is a metal fabrication business located along the shoreline, in Madison, CT. We are looking for a versatile person to fill the position of welder / fabricator.

Qualifications :

• Three (3) years or more experience in welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints, and understand layouts, and the means of manufacture.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in set-up and operations of most fabrication equipment : Shears, Press Brake, Angle Rolls, Plate Rolls, Iron Worker, and Saws.
• Strong understanding of Plasma Cutting, Oxy - Acetylene - Torch Cutting, Carbon-Arc Gouging
• Knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, and sanders in the setup and fitting for welding or in finishing of welds.
• Knowledge of welding machine operation, regulating current, and voltage for the proper fusion of metals.

Responsibilities :

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Set up and operate fabrication and welding equipment, safely.
• May work with or without fixtures with the care required in blocking, clamping, or holding parts in relative position to avoid distortion.
• Report defective materials, unusual conditions, errors, or operational difficulties to the supervisor.

Physical Requirements :

• Lifting 1- 50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.)
• Pushing & pulling 1-50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.)
• Repetitive use of hands and feet required (both right & left).
