Welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Being a Welder inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. Additionally, Welder may prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Welder works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Now hiring Welders for a manufacturing company in Kent for 1st and 3rd shifts.
1st shift: Monday-Thursday: 7am - 5pm, Friday: Start at either 5am or 6am, then work for 5 hours. 3rd shift: Sunday-Wednesday: 10pm - 6am (work 32 hours, get paid for 40).
Weekly pay at $21 per hour for 1st shift and $22 per hour for 3rd shift.
Welders manage the machines that manufacture and repair metal structures, tools, and equipment. They will insert heads and baffles into 406 barrels to tack weld into place, weld components in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions, and examine work pieces for defects and ensure proper measurements are met.
Welders will accomplish this by analyzing drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and data sheets. They will use measuring tools to ensure the final product matches the specifications required. Other duties include assisting other operators, general housekeeping of workstations, and any other task requested by a supervisor.
The ideal candidate is able to interpret drawings/prints, has a great attention to detail, and has great dexterity.
This position involves lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly, working in heights up to 15 feet, and working in confined spaces as needed.
