Webmaster, Sr. develops and maintains an organization's web site or intranet site. Coordinates across the organization to publish or develop new content. Being a Webmaster, Sr. designs the look and feel for the site. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations. Additionally, Webmaster, Sr. performs backups, manages databases, and administers security. Must have a working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and SQL. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Webmaster, Sr. contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Webmaster is a full-time, 12-month position responsible to the Assistant Director, Marketing. This position is responsible for the development and oversight of TJC’s high-traffic public-facing website, TJC.edu, to drive enrollment, and retention and with the tone/feel of the College’s mission, vision, and goals. This position handles a range of responsibilities that include web design and development with user experience and interface as top priority; routine site maintenance to ensure the functionality, security, and efficiency of web infrastructure; and pro-actively updating website content among the College’s various programs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serves as the primary contact for all aspects of the College’s website(s).Develops and maintains websites, forms, calendars, maps and other web-based content with a focus on user interface and experience for the target audiences. Remove outdated or inaccurate information and fix any errors in a timely manner. Collaborate with a wide variety of content stakeholders to proactively update content so that web pages are visually appealing, professional, and informative and ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience.Create website landing pages to support strategic digital communication efforts.Develop new and renovate existing web pages to enhance the college's image and conform to brand and identity standards.Identify and systematically address/resolve any technical issues on the website(s), including troubleshooting and consulting with hosting services or other vendors if necessary. Maintain documentation for the College’s internet domains, application maintenance, SSL certificate updates, and support vendors.Collect, analyze, and report web analytics and similar data to identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve search engine optimization (SEO), time on site, web traffic, and other relevant metrics. Ensures compliance with College policies, procedures, and ethical standards; software licenses; applicable state and federal laws and regulations including the American Disabilities Act, privacy, and intellectual property laws; and website security protocols are up-to-date and data is protected against unauthorized access or cyber threats.Maintains current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in web design, web development, and technology.Performs other duties as assigned.
