Webmaster, Sr. develops and maintains an organization's web site or intranet site. Coordinates across the organization to publish or develop new content. Being a Webmaster, Sr. designs the look and feel for the site. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations. Additionally, Webmaster, Sr. performs backups, manages databases, and administers security. Must have a working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and SQL. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Webmaster, Sr. contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.       Position Title: District Webmaster
      Department: Communications Department
      Reports To: Director of Communications
      Stipend: $3,127.50 (prorated based on annual stipend of $6,255.00)

      SUMMARY:
      The District Webmaster will oversee and manage the school district’s Internet and intranet sites as an information resource for faculty, staff, and the school community. Work cooperatively with the Director of Communications to develop/update web site policies, protocols, style, and content. The District Webmaster is a person who takes initiative, demonstrates ownership, energizes others, and is able to meet or exceed expectations in a proactive manner.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
      • Help design website and offer solutions to improving the product (web editor apps, widgets, etc.).
      • Establishes annual goals that align with strategic plans, district initiatives, mission, vision, and values.
      • Update and maintain school district and building-level administrative pages.
      • Repair or delete broken links.
      • Ensure that the district’s website content is consistent with and adheres to district policy and guidelines.
      • Provide support to staff (teachers, building administrators, athletics, etc.) in updating individual websites.
      • Provide input and recommendations to the Director of Communications and/or Director of Technology regarding new or revised Board policies relating to access, use, and security of technology.
      • Assist in the professional development of staff during in-service days and/or other designated times, as necessary.
      • Review and update, in coordination with the Director of Communications, the district’s style guidelines.
      • Ensure that the website is ADA/OCR Compliant (Documents/Photos, etc.)

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
      Assigns web page tasks to faculty and staff, as needed.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
      Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience in web design, communications, or related field.

      CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
      Background in HTML/Dreamweaver preferred but not necessary. Current criminal record and child abuse clearances, as required.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS:
      Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, create websites to showcase important text and concepts in a way that communicates to the general public, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, students, parents and the general public

      COMPUTER SKILLS:
      Skilled user of PC or Macintosh computer, familiar with all district hardware/software, experienced with web page design.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
      Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and to select and apply the basic tools of quality (flowchart, fishbone, run chart...)

      REASONING ABILITY:
      Ability to solve practical problems and seek creative solutions to situations posing a variety of options.

      OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
      Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and school district policies. Takes initiative, demonstrates ownership, and is able to meet or exceed expectations in a proactive manner.
