  • Job Function:  Bradford Product Managers are customer facing and work with our account executives and customers to drive the design, development, and launch of products.  This includes working with Bradford Marketing and R&D on identifying ingredients and product formulas that will meet the customer’s performance standards and with Operations on designing packaging configurations and production tooling.

     

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    Customer Facing

    1. Main point of contact with our customers for the design, development and launch of new products and changes to existing products.
    2. Work with customers to translate their product briefs into internal design requirements.
    3. Guide customers on ingredient selection and product formulation, product size/shape and packaging configuration.
    4. Manage customer sampling requests and approval process for product formulations.
    5. Ensure product is being designed within customer price targets.
    6. Manage customer purchase orders for dies, vendor tooling, packaging set up costs and product samples and other one-time costs.
    7. Provide regular status to our customers on launch timing of their new products.
    8. Work with our customers and various internal departments to lead changes to existing customer products.
    9. Maintain ownership and work with our customers through the lifecycle of each product.
    10. Coordinate with customers on ingredient liabilities due to product changes.

     

    Product Design, Development and Implementation

    1. Work cross functionally with Bradford Account Managers, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality and Operations to design formulations and packaging that will meet customer needs while being capable of effectively producing in the plant.
    2. Work with R&D and Operations to research various tooling, bases, and additive options for new customers and existing customer line extensions.
    3. Consult with outside raw material vendors for customer requested additives or fragrances, request samples, pricing and regulatory information as needed
    4. Work with the Application Lab and enter lab requests to produce product samples for customer review/approval.
    5. Work with R&D and Supply Chain to provide Ingredient Lists and other Regulatory documentation to our customers as needed.
    6. Work with Operations resources to design wraps, unit cartons, bundles, inner packaging, shippers and other packaging materials as well as other associated tooling required to produce.
    7. Implement labeling requirements.
    8. Initiate and coordinate the product costing/pricing process working with Sales Operations and outside vendors for quotes to finalize new product pricing and/or changes to existing product line costs.
    9. Lead the ERP data setup required for production (Items, BOMs, Routings, Etc).
    10. Work with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and R&D to setup Production Trials as needed.
    11. Coordinate with Supply Chain on material requirements for trials and first production runs.
    12. Work with the customer and various departments as needed to resolve trial/production issues found.
    13. Responsible for the successful design and launch of new products from concept to production.
    14. Scale up and activate new and revised formulations for production.
    15. Review product specs from customers to ensure all changes are captured.

     

    Existing Product Changes

     

    1. Ensure alignment between our customers, sales, supply chain, and operations on timing and execution of changes.
    2. Ensure ERP changes are made and verified.
    3. Work with Supply Chain to identify any material liabilities that may be incurred by the customer for product changes.

     

    General

     

    1. Additional duties, projects and tasks as assigned.

     

     

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    1. 3 years of previous product management experience or 7 years in a B2B customer facing role.
    2. Bachelor’s Degree preferable.
    3. Proficient with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint..
    4. Willing and capable of taking responsibility, ownership and lead cross functional teams.
    5. Willing to roll up your sleeves and perform individual tasks.
    6. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
    7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
    8. Detail oriented.
    9. Capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
    10. Previous Oracle ERP and/or Hubspot CRM experience preferred.

     

     

     

    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

     

    1. This is a salaried position.
    2. Walking to multiple buildings is required
    3. Some lifting will be required
    4. Ability to walk up and down multiple flights of narrow stairways
