Web Product Management Director manages the lifecycle of new technology products or feature enhancements. Researches and develops the roadmap for new products or feature enhancements and plans and oversees the product lifecycle. Being a Web Product Management Director gathers insights from customers and the marketplace to understand needs, new technologies, and trends in the market. Guides the conceptualization, requirements gathering, specification creation, release, and implementation processes. Additionally, Web Product Management Director ensures that product delivery schedules and tasks related to all aspects of product development are coordinated with stakeholders to successfully release new products on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Web Product Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Web Product Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. A Day in the Life:
The Director of Product Management is responsible for defining and enabling effective Product Management across a Portfolio of Products at Hertz. The Director of Product Management collaborates with cross functional teams to build product teams that align with Hertz strategic plans. The Director of Product Management will lead Product Managers across Product Portfolios responsible for strategic product vision, product scoping and the product roadmap.
What You'll Do:
- Define and enable effective product strategy across a product portfolio
- Advocate for design thinking with stakeholders
- Demonstrate ability to influence decision making in different contexts
- Manage conflicts between the business units, the sales teams, and the engineering teams, as it applies to the software products to be built out
- Hire, mentor, and manage product management team
- Lead the oversite and development of a Product Management framework
- Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others
- Facilitate collaborative decision-making in a workshop context
- Articulate and test product hypotheses
- Navigate complex decision-making using product data and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Familiar with two of the following: lean start up methodologies, agile development methodologies, working directly with clients
What We're Looking For:
- 6 years relevant experience in product management or product development with a fast-paced technology company
- Experience in building and fostering teams based on lean product development, focused on driving new practices in a fast-paced fortune 500 company
- Experience with two of the following: lean start up methodologies, agile development methodologies, working directly with clients
- Experience leading or supporting user research
- Experience measuring a product’s contribution on sales and profits
- Experience shipping successful products, including defining vision, strategy, outcome-driven product roadmaps and creating and managing backlogs
- Experience building and deploying software with or inside enterprise scale organizations
- Experience working directly with clients and leading projects
- Experience shipping both new products as well as improving upon existing ones
We expect the starting salary to be around $160,000 to $205,000 with annual bonus and profit sharing eligibility. The actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience
