How you will get to help us do that in this role:

As a Web Designer on the BuildWitt Creative team, you will lead the design/redesign of our clients’ websites, aiming to create visually appealing and functionally effective web pages. This role blends elements of graphic design with technical skills to deliver user-friendly experiences that attract new business and recruitment leads. 

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

1. Within the first year, lead the design or redesign of at least 8 client websites, resulting in cohesive user experiences that align with branding, copywriting, and web development objectives.

1. Implement UX/UI best practices that enhance user engagement and drive conversions, such as job applications, new leads, and customer interaction.

1. Help improve the web design process, reducing design iteration cycles and improving team efficiency. 

1. Help establish a structured client feedback loop for all major projects within the first 6 months, that lets us learn from previous projects to make future projects better. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead web design projects from ideation to implementation, focusing on creating sitemaps, content blocks, wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.
• Use Figma to create original and impactful website designs that adhere to responsive and accessible design principles.
• Collaborate closely with our Copy, Design, Media, and Web Development teams to ensure seamless integration of visual and interactive elements.
• Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Web Development throughout the design process to ensure feasibility for development.
• Develop and refine design processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team and with our clients.
• Confidently present, explain, and defend ideas, designs, and creative concepts to our clients.
• Enhance and customize existing partner websites for new initiatives.
• Ensure 100% of new and redesigned websites meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Requirements/Hard Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in responsive website design, with a portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of UX/UI principles and brand-centric visual design.
• Expert-level proficiency within Figma and preferred experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Proven experience working with design teams to seamlessly translate brand strategy and visual standards to web design.
• Proven experience working with developers for the implementation of animation, user interactions, and responsive design across various devices.
• An understanding of HTML, CSS, and jQuery to allow for realistic execution of the web designs.
• Flexibility during the development process to potentially pivot from a previous design/interaction/animation expectation in order to meet development needs.
• A strong understanding of user journeys and how design approaches can drive results.
