    • Functional Requirements: Design, film, edit, and produce videos and digital media for higher education academic and educational activities to include academic courses, marketing, and social media.
    • Required Education: BA/BS degree in graphic design, visual communication, or relevant professional discipline.
    • Required Experience: 5 years of advanced graphic design/visual/multimedia communication experience.
    • Desired Qualifications Demonstrated artistic talent and capability as evidenced by a strong portfolio. Advanced knowledge of graphic design software and technology with advanced experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Advanced ability to design in PowerPoint using master slides and branded templates, with animation. Knowledge of video production and editing programs. Understanding of photography composition, retouching, color correction and photo manipulation. Has a proven track record for being able to work independently and a well-organized, detail-oriented team player. Strong project management and organizational skills.

    Job description

    • Perform all phases of video production such as developing concepts and storyboarding; script research and writing; casting, hiring, and directing paid and volunteer actors, technicians, and crew; performing videography, camera operation, and light staging; scouting and securing locations; editing, mixing sound, creating graphics, and using digital animation software.
    • Meet with internal customers to identify production needs; plan and schedule shooting; determine and coordinate equipment needs; advise customers and suggest techniques to overcome challenges; coordinate people and transportation required for video footage; pack, move, load, transport, and set-up equipment for production.
    • Operate field or studio cameras and related equipment; recommend shooting changes for more effective visuals; make technical adjustments and troubleshoot equipment to ensure high-quality production.
    • Create multimedia digital storytelling videos using stills, graphics, animation, sound effects, narration, and music; perform audio recording, extracting, and editing for podcasting; develop video slideshow presentations; load videos online; responsible for photography for use in promotions, productions, and publications; utilize software to prepare and enhance photos.
    • Maintain production database, tape library system, and equipment.
    • Preserve technical, business and photojournalistic images to include portraits and events using Canon EOS still camera systems and Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge.
    • Ability to shoot national magazine-quality studio portraits using a variety of strobe lighting set-ups and available light; shoot events and meetings on location in controlled and uncontrolled environments using available light and portable strobes with power packs and reflectors; and shoot artistic images to be used in illustrations and magazine covers.
    • Able to use industry-level storytelling skills to compose and deliver creative photos and write compelling captions to support images with information collected by subject matter experts (SME). 

    Multimedia/Video Production Specialist

    Training and experience for journey level, technical classifications are typically equivalent to an associate's degree and one (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 3-6 years of qualifying training and/or experience).

    Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, have a valid driver license, and/or additional training, licenses, or certificates.
