Wealth Management Specialist, Sr. develops individualized wealth management financial plans and recommendations to help clients attain financial goals by selecting investment solutions to minimize risk and grow wealth. Uses broad knowledge of investment products to educate clients on available investment options and create planning scenarios for retirement, education savings, and other financial objectives. Being a Wealth Management Specialist, Sr. keeps abreast of economic conditions and new financial products to inform and advise clients on potential enhancements to existing financial plans and create up-sell opportunities. Monitors client portfolios to ensure appropriate risk profile. Additionally, Wealth Management Specialist, Sr. follows all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures. May be involved with selling or coordinating the purchase of additional financial products or services to clients. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent. Typically has the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Typically reports to a manager. The Wealth Management Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Wealth Management Specialist, Sr. typically requires 7+ years of related experience. The Intermediary Consulting Solutions Group (ICSG) partners to drive sales within the following sales teams: National Accounts, Wealth Management and Retirement. The Regional Wealth Management Specialist is passionate about building relationships and driving sales with financial advisors. Your primary responsibility in this role is to partner with Sales Consultants (external wholesalers) in a geographical territory to generate sales. You will collaborate with Consultant partners to develop new relationships and manage existing relationships with financial advisors to increase sales of American Century Investments’ products. This is accomplished by providing financial insight, product information and improved sales tools using a consultative sales approach. This role provides wholesaling support, primarily by phone, and responds to client requests as needed. Limited travel to the territory is expected. This may involve specific territory management of remote areas and/or responsibilities in support of the department’s sales efforts. Responsibilities Partner with your Consultants to sell product solutions and promote valuable services to our financial advisor relationships and prospects. This involves extensive proactive outbound telephone calls, using a consultative sales process, and documentation of activities in our client management database Use fund analysis and other research tools to strategically demonstrate our product offerings. Continually build and maintain a solid understanding of American Century’s investment management practices, policies, products and beneficial services. Remain current on events that impact our clients including industry events and general market trends Collaborate with your Consultant partner(s) and internal resources to develop and implement territory business plans to encourage sales and attain/exceed territory specific sales and net investment goals Participate in regional and national conferences as needed. In-person contact with key clients as agreed upon with manager and Consultant partner(s) is also required Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Two to three years financial industry experience preferred. Sales experience preferred Proven knowledge of the financial intermediary marketplace. Knowledge of American Century procedural and operational policies preferred Series 7 and 63 certifications are required for the role.
