Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     The Mechanical Engineer's responsibilities include water treatment system design, equipment and material selection, process drawings, electrical control drawings, and in the field design implementation. This position will provide office and field support to Sales Engineers, Project managers, and Industrial Technicians.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
    • Excellent technical skills, including computer-aid design experience.
    • Complete understanding of fluid mechanics, strength of materials, materials selection, mechanical system analysis, control systems, mechanical design, and modeling.
    • Complete understanding of all purified water systems components. Industrial water treatment systems experience (including water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, de-ionization, resin, filters, softeners).
    • Experience and working knowledge of all plumbing materials, copper, and related products (PVC, CPVC, Poly and PVDF).
    • Presentation and facilitation skills within the classroom training experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills, problem solving, oral and written communication and organizational skills required.
    • Must understand water chemistry and basic knowledge of electricity and control wiring.
    • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
    • Computer skills, with demonstrated experience in Excel, Word, CAD and PowerPoint.

    MECHANICAL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for system design to meet water quality specifications, industry related standards, and project/customer requirements.
    • Responsible for pre-job and current job support to Industrial Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Industrial Technicians, and customers. Support includes project meetings, bid-spec review, CAD drawings, equipment selection, installation material selection, system installation and operation qualifications.
    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects.
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
    • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
    • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
    • Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
    • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
    • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of each project.
    • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
    • Use and continually develop leadership skills.
    • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process drawings as needed.
    • Provides advanced support, and oversight of installation, start-up, service maintenance, modification and repair of commercial and industrial water purification equipment and systems.
    • Works with pumps, motors, piping, and other mechanical systems.
    • Communicate with the customer verbally or in writing, service-related issues, including troubleshooting and diagnosis problems, and recommend the best course of action.
    • Stay current on QSR procedures and follow those procedures.
    • Stay current on industry standards including AAMI, ASTM, CMS, USP, etc.
    • Identify sales opportunities and report to Industrial Sales team.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to sit for periods of up to two hours or more.
    • Ability to walk, stand, reach, and bend for up to 8 hours. Use of stairs and ladder.
    • Ability to push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Ability to finger, grasp, and use a keyboard, mouse, and other computer equipment.
    • Ability to crawl and kneel.
    • Ability to speak, hear, read, and write the English language.
    • Close visual acuity is required.
    • Stretching is important at the start of each workday and periodically for alertness. It is beneficial for work safety and personal health.
