Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. - Analyze water samples to determine treatment requirements
- Operate and maintain water treatment equipment and systems
- Monitor and adjust chemical dosages to ensure water quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of treatment facilities to identify any issues or potential problems
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or process deviations
- Maintain accurate records of water treatment processes and test results
- Collaborate with team members to optimize treatment processes and improve efficiency
Experience:
- Previous experience in water treatment or a related field preferred but will consider others
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience with plumbing a plus
