Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Salary Range: $25.4939 - $34.1487/hour. Salary reflects Step 1 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Job Summary:
Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work involved in operation and maintenance of water treatment, pumping and storage systems and related equipment. Perform a variety of complex repairs and adjustments to equipment, machinery, structures, and grounds.

Working conditions require heavy physical effort, moving over 60 pounds, where effort is intermittent, less than 15% of the time. Working conditions require high attention to detail or deadlines occasionally (between 15% and 45% of the time). A typical workday involves exposure to multiple disagreeable elements, none of which are of greater than moderate intensity, on a frequent basis (more than 70% of the time). Must possess the ability to climb water tanks with appropriate safety equipment to heights exceeding 50 feet as well as the ability to enter confined spaces.
