Position Overview
A Waste Water Technician (WWT) helps oversee environmental requirements of the facility. The WWT is responsible for running the wastewater treatment system, the waste disposal (including hazardous waste) system and maintain records. The WWT is also responsible for the checking out of chemicals used in the plant. Help with the titration of process line and coolant adds in facility. The WWT also is responsible for the maintenance of the Emergency Contingency Plan. This includes OSHA, EPA and DHS requirements.

Essential Functions
- Operate the waste treatment system and disposal of hazardous and non hazardous waste
- Fills out all mandatory State and Federal reports
- Running of the wastewater treatment facility and compliance to the National Pollutant
- Discharge Elimination System [NPDES] permit
- Preform and record Titration result for process equipment
- Coolant adds to production equipment
- Help with additions to process equipment
- Help with the removal of waste in facility
- New incoming chemicals organized and current logs filled out & keeping MSDS database current
Required Experience:
- Holds a class K certificate.
- EPA Training on Toxic Release Inventory TRI report
- Understand Issues In Storm Water Regulations
- RCRA training on disposal of hazardous materials
- Understand NPDES permit requirements
- DOT training
- Basic troubleshooting , maintenance and repairs to water treatment room
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting and reaching with hands and arms
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk and hear
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read applicable instructions
