Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises the operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the testing and maintenance of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment. Being a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager ensures staff is up-to-date with all federal, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or other tech degree. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager typically reports to a manager or director. The Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. City of Woodburn is looking for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager to coordinate and supervise the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment, NPDES Permit, Bio-Solids management, water reuse system, 1200Z NPDES, and training programs for our Wastewater Treatment Plant, Collections system and lift stations. We have a wonderful dedicated team of employees at our plant.
The treatment facility is an Oregon Class IV System and the Collection System is an Oregon Class III. The wastewater treatment plant provides primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment along with effluent reuse. Treated effluent is either discharged to the Pudding River or irrigated to a poplar tree reuse system. The City provides secondary wastewater treatment from November 1 to April 30 and tertiary treatment with reuse from May 1 to October 31, depending on receiving stream flow. Associate's degree in wastewater technology, and a minimum six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in wastewater operations, including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Applicants must have a valid Oregon class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards and pass the pre-employment background check; Level IV Oregon Wastewater Treatment Certification. Level III is considered for WWTP Supervisor under fill level with the understanding IV level will be obtained within 12 months. Supervisor level pay is $33.42 - $42.30 per hour.
