Warehouse Supervisor supervises the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff. Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. Being a Warehouse Supervisor optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. Additionally, Warehouse Supervisor utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance. Implements strong safety polices and procedures. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. POSITION SUMMARY
Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to provide support in the overall management of the Warehouse Department. Work with other crafts as instructed by supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern

· Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
· Comply with company, Federal, State, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations and policies while performing duties.
· Assist in maintaining receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
· Assist in the coordination of employee work assignments to achieve inbound and outbound service requirements.
· Assist in resolving issues with regard to day to day Warehouse operations.
· Work with Purchasing, Accounting, and other managers/superintendents to optimize processes.
· Perform administrative or logistical duties in support of warehouse operations.
· Assist in meeting production schedule, maintaining resources and training needs within the Department.
· Provide technical assistance Department. on an as needed basis.
· Consult with the Production/General Mgr. and other Superintendents to coordinate work schedules and prioritize work.
· Assist in meeting production goals.
· Assign work on multiple assignments during a workday and monitor progress.
· Assist in monitoring performance standards for equipment, shipping/receiving, housekeeping, etc.
· Work with minimal supervision.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly and/or indirectly supervise and/or train subordinates assigned to the Warehouse Department.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence plus one to three years previous shipping and receiving or inventory control experience desired. One or more years supervisory experience desired. An
equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be able to manage a crew of individuals to get the job done efficiently, effectively, and safely. Knowledge of and ship terminology, safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards desired.
Skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express. Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram form or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and government officials. Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. he employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be physically and medically qualified to wear all required personal protective equipment, as prescribed under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. The employee must be able to work above ground at heights of a minimum of 50 feet aloft and/or working from scaffolding and/or man-lifts while working with machinery; in confined spaces and withstand extreme heat and cold in an outside climate or confined space.

The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, continual loud noise, and other hazards found in a heavy industrial shipyard environment. Rigorous compliance with safety procedures, policies, and personal safety equipment requirements is therefore mandatory.
