Warehouse Manager manages warehouse operations and processes. Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. Being a Warehouse Manager optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. Additionally, Warehouse Manager utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance. Key responsibilities:
• Design, establish, manage and maintain the warehousing/materials control facility and operation at the designated warehouse/work site/client facility
• Complete receivers for shipments, clients instrument, electrical group, and the commissioning group purchase orders.
• Direct the request for materials from construction contractors, piping, electrical and instrumentation equipment, by verifying the materials on site and quantities to be issued, along with ensuring that the material has not been requested previously by verifying the ISO number against what has been already issued.
• Once the materials are verified for issue to the contractor, the issue sheets are given to materials coordinator to pull and issue. Once issue sheets are signed, the sheets are returned for spread sheet update for the quantities and the receivers forwarded to all concerned personnel.
• Track all the materials that commissioning orders and then to warehousing to keep up with orders being placed, work with expediter on all orders, Wood, Client (electrical, instrument and piping) to receipt and ensure that all necessary related documents and forward to close Expediter records and spreadsheets, and so that Goods Receipts can be completed by Client personnel to ensure prompt material receipt verification is completed so invoices can be approved for payment.
•Identify any shortages, overages, or damages, and take corrective action to correct the issues with the supplier, working with expediter for quick resolution.
• Work closely with Client warehouse personnel to assist in making sure the Subcontractors materials that come in by UPS or FedEx are identified and delivered to the appropriate drop areas.
• Ensure the efficient operation of and continuously monitor the efficiency and performance of the warehouse operations, including the utilisation of labour
• Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of the materials and logistics workload.
• Establish and monitor project material control systems, including customised project reporting.
• Accountable for all Freight Forwarding and Import / Export and Customs control activities, and compliance thereof.
• Responsible for developing and implementing strategies for identification, minimising and management of project surplus and scrap materials.
KPI reporting and performance including positive identification checks / stock turns as appropriate • Development and implementation of inventory/material management strategies that improve efficiency for Wood and our clients, including but not limited to Kanban, use of consignment stocks, FIFO/min – max levels, track and trace.
• Accountable for the management of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime and ensuring accuracy thereof by monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks and the maintaining of data integrity in material management systems.
• Accountable for the application of correct maintenance and preservation of inventory/materials for stored equipment and the assurance thereof.
• Escalation point for all Project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers where appropriate to resolve materials supply issues.
• Ensures all materials and logistics activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
• Ensures that materials and logistics team carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensures that all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.
• Ensure and confirm compliance to safe working practices and be a role model for safety leadership at all times.
• Act as a role model and champion Woods vision, values and behaviours.
• Act as a role model to embed the Financial Management Framework across the business
• Implement robust performance management and development plans for the team, ensuring any gaps are addressed and development and succession planning is managed effectively.
