Service Technician

Job Summary:  

Service Technicians perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.  This role is responsible for safely completing repairs and maintenance in an efficient, timely manner to satisfy customer needs. Must have air brake, hydraulic, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspection experience and having a Class A CDL is a plus but not required.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Prepares equipment for service work utilizing proper safety procedures (locks, blocking, lock-out procedures) to avoid injury.
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to the manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling.
• Perform all repairs associated with the diagnosis that is possible out in the field.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of diesel engines, vocational trucks, hydro excavation systems is a plus but will provide training.
• Knowledge or ability to learn machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete jobs safe and efficiently
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair.
• The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have physical stamina and strength to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
• Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat
