Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Business Development Manager. As a Business Development Manager, you will identify and develop new business opportunities, manage customer relationships, and collaborate with our team to create and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth.

Our client is a rapidly growing importer, wholesaler, and fine traditional European foods distributor. They pride themselves on catering to sophisticated demands and delivering the finest foods available directly from European producers, in addition to their own imported line and Aztec Revenge hot sauce manufactured domestically.
We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager who wants to succeed in promoting European Imported foods. If you are aggressive and ambitious, then this position is for you. This position will report directly to the President. The selected candidate will work closely with the President to learn the ropes of promoting imported foods. This position is responsible for all company-owned brands' marketing, sales strategies, and new product innovations. Market channels include Retail Grocery (primary), C-Stores, Club Stores, and Food Service. Responsibilities include marketing, planning, pricing, and budgeting.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, goals-driven individual with experience in marketing branded food products and sales analysis and an innovator for new products and opportunities.
· They will manage the entire sales cycle, including prospecting potential customers, making deals, overseeing logistics, and building and maintaining new and existing relationships.
· Represent the company professionally and positively at various customer meetings and trade shows.
· Develop annual sales goals and attainable metrics.
· Create and maintain a written plan that would encompass strategies for distribution penetration.
· Communicate with the distributor’s store, arrange for samplings, and show customers the products/brand.
· Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products to meet their needs.
· Develop, manage, and monitor marketing strategies, including promotion activities and marketing events.
· Respond to customer’s questions about products, prices, and availability.
· Analyze sales trends, current pricing levels, and margin structure.
· Ensure profitable P&L for Product and Customer accounts.
· Create, implement, and evaluate promotion effectiveness, competitive situation, and impact on house brands.
· Approach new markets and accounts by utilizing data and current relationships.
· Forecast and manage action plans and schedules to identify specific targets for sales growth.
· Participate in cross-functional teams for product innovation and go-to-market strategies.
· Prepare various status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and goal adherence.
· Provide sales support through practical guides, presentations, and sales strategy representation.
· Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered to appropriate management staff.
· The candidate will manage the current base while developing and expanding the customer base in other areas.
Position Requirements:
· Must have experience working with distributors such as Kehe and/or Unfi.
· Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
· Must know sales techniques and the ability to identify competitive data.
· Excellent negotiation and networking skills, as well as experience in cold calling.
· Ability to travel.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Effective time management skills and ability to work independently.
Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience: 5-10 years of sales experience in food sales required.
