Wafer Fabrication Operator manufactures wafers under direct supervision. Performs the basic processes of production, such as: baking, aligning, inspecting, etching, and cleaning the wafers. Being a Wafer Fabrication Operator ensures the quality of final product and provides reports to management. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Wafer Fabrication Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Wafer Fabrication Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. GENERAL SUMMARY: Operation of multiple and various presses. Responsible for the production of parts in a safe manner following the routing described and the specifications required by the blueprint.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS: |

EDUCATION: |
|
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Should have some knowledge of how to read engineering drawings. |
|
|
|
WORK EXPERIENCE: |
|
Experience operating a tube bender, turret press or press brake and sweep form equipment is required. Prior experience operating a press brake and cut to length saw is desired. |
|
|
|
SKILLS: |
|
A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to read and understand route sheets and blueprints and check parts to print. Should be able to check parts to print and do daily routine preventative maintenance of equipment including sharpening of tools. Candidate should be a self-starter and be able to communicate issues and improvements to other cell members and internal customers. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: |
|
Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. For normal set-up and operation of press. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 24 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Typically requires standing on a regular basis and walking and stooping occasionally. Must be able to handle parts for inspection, stack parts and move parts to next operation and/or work station. Specific vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision. |

WORKING CONDITIONS: |
|
Operation of multiple and various presses is required. Regularly exposed to noise. Typically requires the use of a forklift and hoist. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles and gloves are required. |
