Southern Specialties is looking for a Fabrication Operator to work at our climate-controlled facility, where components for sheet metal products are produced. Fabrication Operators will primarily be utilizing the saw and drill to mill, tap, sand, cut, deburr, and grind parts coming off the laser operator's table and moving the completed part to the next operation. We are looking for someone that is detail oriented and knows how to utilize hand/power tools.
This is a 1st shift Mon – Thurs 5am – 3:30pm opening.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Industrial Saw
- Previous experience working in a fabrication environment preferred
- Hand Grinder, Belt Sander, and Measuring Tape experience
- Experience with industrial machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of basic shop math

Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures.
Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
