Wafer Fabrication Operator manufactures wafers under direct supervision. Performs the basic processes of production, such as: baking, aligning, inspecting, etching, and cleaning the wafers. Being a Wafer Fabrication Operator ensures the quality of final product and provides reports to management. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Wafer Fabrication Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Wafer Fabrication Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Essential Functions of the Job:
- Setup and operate brake press folding machine to consistently produce work of accepted quality at a productive work pace on any job assigned
- Operate overhead and walk behind cranes.
- Operate power industrial trucks.
- Read and properly interpret blueprints.
- Check work with measuring instruments.
- Perform related tasks, including routine machine care and maintenance, material handling, recordkeeping and any other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Plan and perform diversified work of average complexity with frequent physical effort in handling and moving material.
- Practice safe work habits including PPE requirements and all safety rules.
- Comply with plant rules and attendance rules.
- Prioritize work using general guidelines to respond to multiple, simultaneous demands and requirements efficiently without losing composure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to count accurately and have basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to read, write legibly and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner as needed to complete assigned duties.
- Ability to use CRT/computer/bar code reader to retrieve and/or input data.
- Ability to plan work to maximize utilization of equipment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

High school diploma or GED
One year of work experience in a heavy, industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist/turn, bend/squat, climb, reach below knees and reach above shoulders on a continuous basis.
- Frequent use of powered material handling equipment.
- Frequently required to lift/carry up to 15lbs unassisted, occasionally lift/carry 16-50lbs unassisted.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
