Volunteer Services Director manages a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Services Director provides training resources and guidance to a team of supervisors to assist with educating volunteers. Manages the scheduling of volunteer workers to ensure adequate assistance for projects or objectives. Additionally, Volunteer Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Volunteer Services Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Volunteer Services Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Volunteering to assist in any of the opportunities below can be a rewarding experience in and of itself.  In addition, these opportunities can provide participants with an inside look at the types of positions that exist in the Coast Community College District.

    There are a variety of options for volunteering.  Departments can view your skills and areas of expertise that align with their goals and areas of need, as available.  The duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the nature of the assignment.

    Volunteers can help extend and expand existing programs within the District by providing the additional services needed. They can assist departments by providing skills, expertise, fresh ideas, objective view points, or an extra hand.Volunteers can expect to have:

    • On-going training and supervision

    • A working partnership with staff
    • Feedback and suggestions from supervisors

    This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for a volunteer POOL to fill volunteering assignments on an as-needed basis. We accept applications all year long. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill intern and volunteer assignments as the need arises. (Applications will remain in the pool for one year.)
    Application Requirements:  To be considered for a volunteer opportunity you must submit:
    •  A complete online Volunteer application.
    All applications will be screened under a process of utmost confidentiality by a committee of representatives from the college community.
