We are excited to share the salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 annually, exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at MOWOC, your final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience in addition to internal pay. This position is eligible for a $2,500.00 discretionary annual bonus based on achieving measured performance goals and contributions to agency financial goals. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Volunteer Services is responsible for developing, implementing and growing a state-of-the-art integrated volunteer program that supports the mission and vision of the Agency and meets the program’s need while creating meaningful volunteer experiences. The Director of Volunteer Services is a spokesperson for the Agency's social service programs and is responsible for developing community support through effectively administering a county-wide volunteer program which includes the recruitment, training, placement, evaluation, recognition, and retention of community and corporate volunteers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Effectively coordinates and administers a volunteer-integrated program, which includes formalized recruitment, training, placement, evaluation, and recognition.

Develop, monitor, execute, and oversee projects, programs, and grants related to socialization and intergenerational activities.

Conducts ongoing reviews and appraisals of the program to explore new volunteer assignment opportunities.

Plans, programs and controls new volunteer/intern assignment opportunities.

In collaboration with senior staff, assess the program needs to determine the ability to utilize volunteers/interns.

Presents to program staff to encourage using volunteers/interns.

Develop program goals based on the Agency's needs assessment, goals, and mission.

Develop standards and implement policies, plans, and procedures for directing, supervising, operating, and evaluating volunteer programs.

Establishes and maintains relationships with community members and corporations to motivate increased volunteer and intern participation.

Develop and conduct specific programs to provide positive volunteer utilization, retention, and recognition approaches.

Represents the volunteer program and/or the Agency on many occasions in speaking engagements before corporations, civic groups, colleges, and faith-based organizations.

Prepares program documentation, plans media and/or marketing materials, and researches appropriate “best practices” for program improvements.

Practices safe operating procedures at all times and takes necessary steps to help ensure a safe work environment.

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in social services or public relations is preferred; related work experience may be accepted instead of formal education.

Minimum of three years’ experience in volunteer program development and recruiting, preferably in a non-profit agency.

Project and grant management experience with strong attention to detail desirable.

Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.

Volunteer management software system experience desirable.

Working knowledge of current trends in volunteerism and a good understanding of what motivates a person to volunteer.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer applications, including database, desktop publishing, social media, and e-mail blast correspondence.

Must pass a post-offer physical and background check.

Ability to sit in a stationary position for extended periods and use both hands and fingers for typing on a keyboard.

Occasionally must be able to move and lift office equipment and materials to 10 pounds.

Close vision requirements due to frequent computer use.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e., telephones, computers, printers, etc.).

Local travel may be required 50% of the time.
