The Belmont Voice, an independent news organization dedicated to providing meaningful local coverage to the Town of Belmont, is looking for an energetic ad sales manager to work with local businesses and volunteers to support our newsroom.
The Belmont Voice is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to produce independent journalism that keeps the Belmont community connected, well-informed and engaged with thorough, accurate and fair coverage of topics affecting life in our town. Our newspaper is available online and is also delivered free to every household and business in Belmont on a weekly basis. We are governed by a nonprofit Board of Directors and staffed by professional journalists. We are funded by advertisers and charitable donations.
We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Part-Time Ad Sales Manager to lead our hyperlocal print weekly's advertising sales efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of administrative skills, tech proficiency, and sales experience to drive revenue growth. The role involves selling ads, managing the workflow with advertisers, coordinating with outsourced ad designers, working with volunteers, and maintaining an open line of communication with our Editor-in-Chief. This position will require approximately 50% coordination responsibilities, 50% direct sales efforts, with an initial commitment of 20 hours per week. The role will involve some in-person time in Belmont.

Salary. This is a part-time position, with an initial commitment of 20 hours per week. The base salary is expected to be $20,000 (or $20/hr), plus a commission on ad sales generated above a certain level, providing an opportunity to increase total pay by up to 50%.
