Voice Communications Manager is responsible for managing the policies and procedures of voice communications. Ensures uninterrupted access to all voice telecommunication features including voicemail, ACD or PBX systems. Job Description:
The Broadband Facilities manager will be responsible for managing BCI’s existing fiber optic plant network, in addition to assisting in fostering outside plant growth. The Broadband Facilities Manager will be a key contributor in identifying future growth opportunities. This role requires a person who is a self-starter and is willing to work in a cross-collaboration team environment.
Job Duties
1. 30% Outside Plant Construction Engineering:
Completes detailed fiber-to-the-home construction designs for new plant installation, replacement, removal, or rearrangement of existing infrastructure, utilizing industry best practices to achieve maximum performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, accompanied by detailed opinions of probable costs including all labor, equipment, and materials to allow for accurate cost & revenue evaluations. Requires a strong knowledge in fiber-to-the-home system architectures, outside plant construction and engineering practices and principles, and various computer aided drafting, geographic information system, mapping, and staking software applications used in the production and management of OSP engineering records. Collaborate with outside engineering firm contractors to supervise and review plans, designs and specifications. Ensures company compliance with current telecommunications facilities in accordance with industry practices, codes, regulations and ordinances.
2. 25% Construction Project Management:
Provides project management assistance and quality control of outside plant construction related projects and activities related to the telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards. Makes recommendations to determine which projects will require outside contractors, assisting with the vendor solicitation and selection process, and coordinating with contractors to schedule and complete the work as agreed upon. Ensures all preliminary requirements are met prior to construction start, including locate submission, acquisition of all necessary permits (right-of-way, encroachment, building, utility, environmental, historical, zoning, Department of Transportation, government agency, easements, joint-use, railroad, etc.), and appropriate notification to all applicable stakeholders. Inspects work compliance and quality and ensures cleanup throughout jobs.
3. 25% Material and Construction Equipment Management:
Manages cable and construction material inventory, recording quantities on hand, and ordering as necessary to ensure sufficient resources are available to complete current and planned projects as scheduled. In addition, the Outside Plant Manager continually looks for new and improved ways of completing the above functions.
4. 20% Facilities Management:
Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, huts, and cabinets. Ensures power equipment is properly maintained. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor will be performed in order to address unexpected situations or needs that may arise.
