OverviewWe're seeking a Cisco Voice Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will serve as an engineering resource for implementation of Cisco voice solutions and integration activities in accordance with adopted best practices. Responsibilities will be centered around regional systems in support of the overall enterprise system design.
This position is open to remote/work from home but must reside in Iowa or Wisconsin area.
Preferred location: within an hour of Des Moines, Iowa.
Some travel required.

ResponsibilitiesVoice Engineering
- Provide input towards Cisco voice strategy and roadmap development.
- Focus on implementation of newly defined or existing solutions according to approved designs
- Serve as a technical escalation resource during system downtimes or when addressing regional system impacts
- Identify optimization opportunities and drive service improvements leveraging root-cause analysis
- Act as a peer reviewer for change controls involving applicable regional systems
- Execute test procedures and validate features and functionality for system upgrades and changes
- Act as a subject matter expert for their regional systems
- Work collaboratively with IT Peer groups to ensure system implementation is conducted within standard operating procedures
Technical Lead/Issue Resolution
- Participate as a technical lead in the implementation of defined solutions, product upgrades, or medium impact changes within applicable region
- Serve as a technical resource for Cisco Administrators for incident management and customer issue resolution
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Networking or equivilant work experience.
- Preferred:
- The following Cisco Certifications – CCNA collaboration, CCNP Collaboration preferred.
Experience:
- 4 years’ experience with Cisco Voice; (CUCM, CUC, UCCX). Experience Call Recording solutions, and functional knowledge of SIP, MGCP, SCCP, and other voice related protocols.
- Experience with large deployments and utilizing Cisco system tools to create efficiencies
- Experience with integrating Cisco voice with other telephony solutions
- Experience supporting or maintaining an enterprise dial-plan
- Experience supporting or maintain centralized voice solutions for regional systems
- 2-4 years’ experience with SME in an enterprise sized Cisco voice environment preferred.
