Westaff is seeking a Temporary Vocational Rehabilitation Technician for a state office in Butte, MT!!

Schedule: M-F, 8 am – 5 pm (Part time and modified schedules will be considered)

Term: 3 Months

Pay: $25.05/hr

Duties:

• Assists new referrals in completing the application for VR services and conducts the intake interview to include gathering information on work and medical history and obtaining necessary information such as school and medical records.
• Arranges for diagnostics and evaluations when appropriate.
• Utilizes Person Centered Planning and Motivational Interviewing techniques throughout the intake process to communicate effectively and obtain information.
• Provides information about Vocational Rehabilitation to ensure the applicant is making an informed choices about applying for the program.
• Screens incoming documents for pertinent data and information and verifies accuracy of information.
• Reviews files, records, and other documents.
• Notifies Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor when information has been received to determine eligibility.
• Provides follow-up on information/records required for eligibility.
• Prepares presumptive eligibility letter and certificate for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
• Drafts letters for routine business and contacts clients to schedule appointments, evaluations, and various meetings.
• Provides guidance to help individuals understand disability rights and promotes self- advocacy.
• Reviews labor market information and shares occupational information with consumers.
• Guide’s students, parents, and education staff in preparation for career development and employment.
• Partners with Workforce partners to deliver efficient seamless services, provides consultation and coaching, when necessary, on serving individuals with disabilities.
• Monitor individual employment plans, record behavioral observations of individuals, and assist individuals with a wide variety of disabilities.
• Organize work preparation activities such as job seeking skills, resume development, interview preparation/practice, job clubs, and job fairs.
• Monitors and provides on-site job coaching to help consumers learn and adapt in school and work environments.
• Completes caseload transfers as requested.
• Keep rehabilitation professionals informed of activities and consumer concerns.
• Assists counselors by providing technical information on rehabilitations issues that do not require advanced counseling knowledge.
• Enters and ensures accuracy of applications, case notes, supporting documentation, data, and other information in the case management system.
• Assists individuals in obtaining grants, scholarships, fee waivers, and other financial assistance.
• Processes, reviews, and prepares financial forms.
• Maintains and updates case filing, inventory, and mailings.

Qualifications:

• Clean background
• Bachelor’s degree in human services field including but not limited to Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, and Education including Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education.
• One year of experience in career counseling, social work, or human services. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
