Alabama State University, Institutional Advancement, invites applications to fill the Videographer position. This position will be responsible for all videography services, including but not limited to, video production, videotaping of events & interviews, and video editing. The selected candidate will operate video cameras and related equipment in the production and editing of video documentaries, educational television programs, or other video productions.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Ensures high quality, creative, and compelling videos that bring stories to life for key audiences, amplifying excellence in research, student success, the university’s land grant mission.
- Illustrates university programs and people across digital channels such as websites, social media platforms, and targeted campaigns.
- Generates new, creative approaches to communication initiatives through video; present and review video concepts and storylines.
- Works closely with the Brand and Marketing Director, and independently, to identify opportunities to enhance stories, webpages, and social media campaigns with video.
- Participates in the creative build out of the university brand assets.
- Directs all video production including capturing video and audio footage, editing, receiving and incorporating feedback, delivering final cuts.
- Gathers, analyzes and reports on data related to video engagement for the purpose of improving work.
- Maintains a well-organized library of footage, filming and sharing key activities that will be used by communicators for multiple purposes in multiple units.
- Directs and collaborates with in-house and freelance videographers and photographers on visual storytelling efforts.
- Operates video cameras, on location or in the studio, in the production of professional pre-recorded programming.
- Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions.
- Computer edits video segments on a variety of tape and digital formats.
- Completes troubleshooting and preventive maintenance reports on video and audio production equipment; assists in repair and upkeep of studio and production sets and properties; maintains equipment inventory and field and studio production schedules
- Adds computer graphics, closed captioning and special effects footage
- Prepares background file
- Performs other duties as assigned

Georgiana is located in southern Butler County at 31°38'24.313" North, 86°44'21.991" West (31.640087, -86.739442).
